Couple of recent purchases. Both in excellent condition.
The Colt is completely stock whereas the "Cobranet" has had a 4khz dropper added to the CB/PA switch to catch some of the muppets. That will be removed.

Bought a nice boxed Merit 6 channel handheld for £13 odd to sit next to my "Great" branded one. Just need the "Sirtel" now to get the matching set

This is a Dirland 3900F that I purchased a while back from France. Been to Nicks for an overhaul and I've elected to have the bands shifted up by one to cover the SSB side of 28Mhz.
I've converted the bezel and knobs to chrome and added a custom faceplate. New cases too (not chrome!)
Pretty pleased with the outcome.

The black and chrome looks great ... Looks much better than all black or all chrome... How good are the 3900f's..?.. compared to say an Optima(that works) (-;.... Or the Magnum 257..?..

Thanks. This 3900F seems to work well. One thing I really like is the quiet receiver. I have a number of current radios and most of them have a much higher noise level on receive. There's the usual drift that's associated with these but it's really quite small compared to some of the "newer" 3900sJibberJabber wrote:The black and chrome looks great ... I just got rid of an Optima MK3. Bought it new last year but didn't really take to it so it ended up sitting on the shelf.

I don't know what it is but I just love the Optima..I prefer the MK1 .. Evem though the FM is quiet..(if you get one that works properly) I have had great reports on SSB with HM-36.. I may try the 3900f .. But I'd have to do the same as you .. Black and chrome..(-;

Re: What CB/11m Radio Stuff did you buy today? (2017)
.... It is a sickness I'm afraid... And it just keeps spreading..!. ... I got myself a cabinet for my radio gear after accumulating loads of shelving and custom made cabinets , it just got out of control.I sold much of it ..... The cabinet I now have houses around 4 radios the way I have it configured .. Trouble is I bought a Cobra 2000 GTL recently which doesn't fit ... So guess what I'm making a special unit for it and of course that means there will be more space above for radios..lol.. So now I am over my self imposed limit and currently at six.. I'll put some pics up when I get a chance..

I am getting rid of some before it gets out of hand. At least i am lucky they dont make stuff i realy like now, if this had been the 80s, think it would be a different story.
