I was going to bid on that but forgot the listing was ending.

Looks very nice.

This was a really weird one guys. Like yourselves I was bidding on this, but I was outbid at the last moment. I was outbid by €1. Now, fast forward a couple of hours and there it was again on a BIN at €99 (£87.45).

I was a bit confused, but hit the BIN button without delay and bought it for €19 less than I bidded on it previously.

All a bit odd, but happy I got the radio. It's on its way and the tracking info has been provided. I'll post an update once it arrives.

At the other end of the scale, I've just won the bidding on the little Maxcom Homebase with the blue grid pattern on the front.
I've got one of the next run that has the plain silver front, but this was the first earlier one with the grid pattern I've ever seen up for sale.

Little things please little minds as they say ;)

Sorry..my mistake. I got excited :)
Rather it's a Commtel Homebase but it's basically a Maxcom 4e board inside like the Westward PT2 homebase has.

Just checked my messages on eBay and got a bit of a surprise.

Remember the 360FM which sold on bids then was mysteriously relisted on a BIN of £99? Well I'm guessing the seller was shill bidding and won his own radio!

Just checked the bidding activity and the winning bidder only has two feedback. So the seller robbed themself of €19! I wonder if they're a bit peeved, unlike me. :D

I have had that a lot on ebay, bid retractions in last hour, and ending up high bidder after pulling out of bidding. Ebay should be jumping all over this.

Nobody pulled out of the bidding though, hence I didn't win the auction. And it wasn't too long after the auction ended that the seller sent the message. So I'm guessing they put a high bid on their own radio to see how high people would bid to win it. After all it is a very nice example. If the winning bid was genuine they didn't even give the winner a chance to pay for it. This has shill bidding stamped all over it, but on this occasion it didn't work for them.

Only seven minutes between the auction ending and the seller sending the second chance offer. Dodgy as hell.

I have bought from that seller before. I think the radios were ok, but cannot remember what they were off of the top of my head.

The Superstar I bough from France arrived yesterday. Very nice indeed. Sadly the beep wire has been cut and super low and super high have been added via a diode matrix switched on the tone control. That will all be getting put back to standard when time permits.

PLL date code is 1990 so it's a later model with the PB010/AB board. I have to say I've never seen one with a CRT sticker on the back before. Came with original stock mic. Sadly no bracket, thumbscrews or manual. Not a worry as I have spare brackets and thumbscrews and I'm sure I'll be able to pick up an original manual along the way. Serial numbers on radio and box match up and both intact poly inserts are present.

A few pics.
