Re: President Lincoln 2 - Version 3
Nevada have these radios in stock
I have one in front of me now
All issues have been fixed, produces about 38 watts on ssb via a dummy load and Bird thruline meter
All reports so far say radio sounds nice on all modes. receiver is very good, and background noise almost none.
I think that this radio will now become the leader. Better than the Ranger only one drawback for me is does not cover 12 metres
Anyone want to buy a Ranger 2970N2?

Re: President Lincoln 2 - Version 3
Hello,
I bought my Lincoln II V3 some days ago (modified Version by Hans Kucha) and I am VERY pleased with it. It has excellent sensitivity in all modes, much better than the Grant II. Really impressive.
The only negative Thing I figured out is the "Minimum possible volume" Setting. While Volume "1" is mute/silent, the next possible step "2" is by far too loud for the Situation in my house, especially during the evening hours.
Is there a way to lower the Overall volume via menu or Engineering menu? Or would it help to put a resistor in front of the Speaker? I definetely Need to operate the Radio less loud than I can do at the Moment.
Thanks for your Input.

Re: President Lincoln 2 - Version 3
Having heard a Grant 2 and a Lincoln 2 on SSB, I would say that the Grants TX audio is in another league.
The L2 sounds pretty similar to the Anyclone type radios. Good but nothing special. The Grant 2 sounds like a classic Uniden set such as a Stalker 9, only better.

Re: President Lincoln 2 - Version 3
I think the problem now is everyone will be hanging back and wondering if there will be yet another version
For some reason my gut instinct from the start was I didnt like it, not used one just thought it didnt look good although thats no way to judge a radio, the Grant 2 I have loved from the first time I saw it, not used one of them either TBH but would be tempted, the reports so far is thats its a much better made radio than the lincoln although watching Simons video looks like they have changed the channel mechanism and done a few more bits and bobs.
I think out of all the new radios that have been produced lately it would be a President one that I would feel safest with, they have tried hard to get things right, they have repaired/fixed radios that have not worked properly. It is a very good company and seems to listen to its customers.

The V2 doesn't seem to sell for much secondhand...

In the few months since it was bought this one lost around half of it's value.

Re: President Lincoln 2 - Version 3
I am owner of a france modded V2 since one week now and i musst say that it works great. Ok, the volume knob settings are not the best, but RX and TX are great. Had never expected that it will work better than my Anytone 5555. I have no problems, only good reports. Its super stable and has a lot of potential. V1 was s...t but president fixed it perfectly in one week incl shipping from germany to france and back.
I have some Videos online, more will follow.

Re: President Lincoln 2 - Version 3
Do these Lincolns have the UK 27/81 channels 1-40 in them?

I think by not having this they have missed a trick.
The newer anyclone (AT-6666 etc) type radios which share the pretty much the same board can be programmed to allow the correct readout. Not only that they are cheaper...

Re: President Lincoln 2 - Version 3
Hi All, What is so special about the Lincoln 2, I have yet to hear anyone on the continent use one, well admit to using one, I also think President have detached themselves from what the end user wants. Bring back the President George.
