I think I remember someone else saying that about the 2830 . I bought my HR2510 in 89 and that came in the black/purple Uniden box .

All of the 2830's came in a plain white box with no identifiers. There were two labels on one end of the box, one with the serial number and one with the country of manufacture. Even the very last 2830's built in the Philippines still came with the plain white box.

Couple of snaps of one of mine.

I've got a Jackson #1 with UK 40 on band 6 and a Lincoln #1. I haven't had a chance to really try the Lincoln out but I did a 'reccy' with a Sirio Performer and the Jackson, got a couple of really good receptions and TX but that was from my house with the antenna stuck on computer case so I didn't venture too long as the SWR was up and down like a yoyo. There's not much action here in West of Scotland, I'll have to wait for some decent weather to get up to a spot here called Cathkin Braes to really try it out. Both rigs are in pristine condition, I was very fortunate getting them. The Jackson came with a load of spare parts. I only found out from the Lincoln's manual about it being the same as the Uniden

There's also the President HR2510 which, other than two differences with the controls, is identical to the Lincoln/2830.
