Group Monitoring Frequency?
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what frequency the group should monitor apart from the obvious ones. Most DX groups have a group frequency so members can call and meet up at pre-arranged times or on a DX weekend etc.
Again, I'm open to suggestions on this one.

RE: Group Monitoring Frequency?
There's very little comms on the radio at the moment, perhaps we should monitor the 27.555 USB just to increase our chance of hearing ANYTHING!
We could have 27.535 USB as a backup frequency for when the continent comes booming in perhaps?

RE: Group Monitoring Frequency?
Yeah, sounds reasonable. What I was thinking of was the use of a group frequency so we can check it on a regular basis on the off chance that we might actually hear other tango mike members if conditions allow but as you say, keep monitoring the usual 555 too.
So... 27.535 MHz USB can be our group secondary frequency for TM nets etc.

RE: Group Monitoring Frequency?
A group monitoring frequency sounds a good idea. but also as you say i think we should choose what days and times to monitor, as other DX groups do. Everyone could have their say on the best day/time that suits them.
For everyday use 27.555 could be TM's everyday frequency. For net's or pre-arranged events or if you just want to try and contact other TM members we could use 27.535. Makes sense.

RE: Group Monitoring Frequency?
I'm waiting for suggestions but it's a difficult one because everyone has different times they go on the radio. When do most of you get time to go on the radio. My best times are on an evening during week days but for others it might be the weekends, for example a sunday morning.
So let's see what the group members think..! Any comments on times and days of the week?

for me if there are conditions then 535 will be just as packed as 555 95% of the time. but no real prob. good idea tho,
My times on the radio are very varied now that Im 99% mobile.

How are we getting on on this subject?
Is it settled on 27.535?
I currently QSY to .525 purely cos it s a little quieter than the others around .555.
Im keen to push for an established group freq tho.
5yrs from now we'll be downloading a web based freq list and next to .535 will be "tangomike",
well here's hoping.

Check down that frequency list (on "Clicky Here"), someone already has put us on a list.Callum wrote:5yrs from now we'll be downloading a web based freq list and next to .535 will be "tangomike",
