Diy Hf vertical

Post by nordhavn »

I'd like to have a go at making an hf vertical . From my understanding a simple one would be to use a 1/2 wave Silver rod with the loading coil removed and a 9:1 balun at the base . Would a better quality antenna such as a sirio 827 make much of a difference ?

No. You have no idea about feedpoint impedance, so no one knows what (if) balun you need.

No.
Btw do not forget radials. At least 2 1/4 wave for each band.

Maybe that is an antenna you think about? http://www.g8jnj.net/cometcha250b.htm

That is something worth building: http://www.tc2m.info/
