ISS Over Scotland Tonight
The ISS is due over Scotland tonight at 22:25, SSW, elevation around 30 degrees. Will I hear anything on their frequencies?

This is very true. I listened anyway, got my nephew quite excited about it, then didn't hear a thing.

You'll find that it passes over about 3-5 times a day..

If you get just a YES or NO answer it will mean either you should already know the answer or you have proved yourself incapable of understanding the answer. Also if you think I need to explain what I type then perhaps you should realise your own limitations

Re: ISS Over Scotland Tonight
The ISS never actually passes over Scotland, as its orbit is too far south. The closest it gets is the south of England, however it can be clearly seen with the naked eye (weather permitting) and as already mentioned, if one of the crew is active, it can easily be worked on 2m. Some crew members are more active on amateur radio than others. A few years ago Bill McArthur KC5ACR was very active. I worked him from my mobile in the early hours one morning on my way home from work. I don't think anyone has been as active as him since, which is a pity.

Old thread but worth mentioning that there is a very easy to work APRS digipeater on board that requires nobody on board to operate it. They do switch it off now and then for operational reasons.
