Identify a 99 fire up stick help

Post by original45 »

Can someone tell me the numbers on top of fire up stik from firestik.
.
This one is 5feet. Numbers us pat 4 379298.
Phoenix ari 85034.

Has no other identifications so I'm unsure I'd indeed it is or its just a stand alone fire stick.

Thank you

If it's got the adjustable tip under the cap but no labelling, it should hopefully be a Fire-up. I have seen adverts with the wording "Fire-Up" on them, but never one in real life as yet.

The original Firestik had no adjustable tip.

The adjustable "Firestik II" usually had it's name printed on the cap.

It has fire stik 11 on the red tip and has a adjustable thread.

A friend also bought one said to be fire up stik for antron with same.
I just can't find any identification to 100% clarify it is actually a fire up or a fire stik only.

I have seen the printed image of fs 99 as they call them which does lead you to believe it should state fire up stik .but then it's only a printed image not a photograph.

I think in honesty I believe I have been duped.
I'm dammed if I'm Will get someone to take my antron down to test it's match to the antenna .

All my mag mounts are audio type too not 3/8.
Frustrating .com..
Thank you though

The Firestick II was the later adjustable mobile version, not the Fire-Up add-on for the A99.

It may however do the same job providing the length and windings are the same that is. If it SWR's in okay then job done, but if not then it's probably incompatible.

You could always call one of the big shops and ask their opinion ;)

Set it up and tested on meter.
Its def a stand alone firestik not a antron fire up stik.

Whilst I had a friends base and his 7' fire stik I compared.
Firstly my 5' ,the adjustment screw on top isn't long enough despite it being all the way out.

I will get a longer threaded rod ,but it did swr to 1.4 on uk and was dropping well until I ran out of threaded rod.
Grrrrr.

Rx signal increased by 1s point with the 7' over the 5' model
So longer is better.

I reckon I can improve the swr with a longer threaded piece quite well.
I doubt it needs to be brass either.

Was only a tenna so will do as a spare mobile antenna.
Its a keeper

I was going to try a 7ft Firestick on top on a imax2000 but couldn't get one at the time. Then I decided to flog the imax for some well-needed cash. Thought it might not have whipped about so badly as the original skinny/flexible top section and may have helped with an extra S-point had I swr'd it in okay.

Yes it's pretty solid the original 7' stik but they have no screw adjustment like the firestik 11 on top.

Not so keen on that idea.
I want a imax next.
