Post by 108EH002 » 27 May 2018, 20:20

Have got a chipswitch Lincoln mk1,but at the house I get S9 of white noise on the radio while in rx ( 2 unmodded Lincolns were the same so not the chipswitch ),can the filter inside be upgraded/and get the noise blanker to actually work unlike at present, with better available components in 2018 ?,Thanks in advance.
You can talk worldwide on CB radio = not 10 - 15 miles,
rsgb are too far up their own @rses to admit it = snobs.

There are 2 possibilities:
1. Move to quiet neighbourhood.
2. Find noise source and get rid of it.
No radio mod gonna help you.
I would start with house you live in. Cut the power, check on battery if noise disappears or not.

You can't have too many antennas...

Noise source is close to house, drive a few hundred ft and it will disappear, have tried battery/isolated from own main supply, leaving it off a few hours to allow any capacitors in house to dissipate aswell Chris. Some radios not as bad as other's,radios with lcd displays like Lincoln + Ranger 2950 etc seem worse than analougue needle on meter, maybe just too sensitive for modern psu's that surround us.

Very annoying when you pick up unusually high interference wise/bloody chip pan,but whats the point when they are firing microvawe signals/PLT etc, still take the same tax/vat on new radio purchases, even with no guarantee you can actually hear anything, even when it is set up right {bnghd} rant over.
