Wiring a KPO NM 532 Power Mic to Superstar 6900N

Post by HighwayPatrol »

Hello everyone,
I have graduated from a Team Roadcom FS to a Superstar 6900N. I have a KPO NM 532 Power mic but have no idea what wire goes where. I know that one wire should not be soldered on the plug as it is 5+ volts. The mic wire colours are blue, white, red and braid.
Anyone else on here have the same mic and rig ?

Thanks for any help.

Hi Paul.

The braid should be soldered to pin one. The audio (the wire with the braid wrapped around it) goes to pin two. Pin three is transmit. Not sure as to the colour coding on the Mic, but try the two remaining wires on pin three. If it's not correct the first time (Radio doesn't TX) just swap to the remaining wire.

Do not connect any wires to pin four. This is the +5V from the radio to power the stock mic.

It's wired Cybernet by the sound of it. Just be very careful with pin 4. Don't attach any wires to it or you will cause serious damage to the radio.

Thanks for the warning. I might jujst send it off and have it wired professionally. I dont seem to have the skill anymore for wiring mics and knowing my luck, i would end up damaging the rig.
