27.275 USB calling channel
Okay,I make a point of calling on .275 USB after finishing work on my home commute in Southern Gloucestershire.Running a small amount of extra, nothing serious through a K40 mag.I have yet to hear anyone apart from German FM stations fading in and out. However T5 tonight was very busy tonight on the way home (yes I got bored calling CQ on .275).
Is anyone in the Gloucestershire/Bristol/Avon area calling on .275?

Re: 27.275 USB calling channel
Keep trying, I've been pleasantly surprised by the contacts I've made by calling on 27.275. Everyone is so spread out these days so we know it's not always easy but the UK SSB calling channel increases your chances by concentrating people onto one frequency.
It's never going to be as busy as T5 because that is an international calling frequency, 275 is meant for UK stations to call each other.

Thanks for that Del.Do try to use .275 most of the time especially when mobile.Am around the Bristol area this weekend so will give a shout out.T5 gets soooo crowded at times, especially when the sporadic picks up.Having said that, have had many good QSO's by QSYing from T5.Be good to get some on .275 though!!

I hear a fair bit on 275 from varying locations in Teesside. 275 seems to be more active in the North than the South currently.
I will not be commanded, I will not be controlled.

Even though I've got a handful of sidebanders, I've never actually spoken to anyone on one. I tuned into a couple of Americans and Frenchies last year but that's about it.
I live in Nailsea, about 9 miles south of Bristol, but I'm not sure I'd hear you from where I am as I'm surrounded by 200ft hills pretty much on all sides. I can hear the odd Bristol user as well as a few from Wales, but most of those I think are using quite a bit of power on big aerials from what I've heard.
If you're around later tonight, I could always plug in the aerial and see if I can hear/reach you. I'll only be using the rig's own power as I don't possess an amp, so I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't hear me even if I could hear you!

In North Lanarkshire here and I mostly listen but do occasionally call. Very little in the way of local SSB activity.
Last night, it was full of French stations at S9+.
They were on FM though.

Re: 27.275 USB calling channel
I've tried calling on .275 and no reply , wish it would start to pick up as the local band police would report me on 555 , sad days indeed .
