The MK1 Lincoln bracket

Post by NightProwler »

Where the hell do they all go? I know most secondhand radio's don't come with the bracket but they are quite easy to track down but the MK1 Lincoln brackets are impossible to find. Ive been searching for one for about 4 years now. Did everyone who bought a Lincoln new open the box and think "Hmmm I dont need that" then chuck it in a bin or is there a planet somewhere with all of them dumped on? What the hell happened to them all. As Toyah Wilcox said "It's a mystery"

Indeed it is . Just buy a Lincoln with one . Then sell it again without it . Saying that , that will introduce another Lincoln into the market without one , so it's a bit of a dilemma :)

Its a bit like algebra. You only hear of it at school, Since leaving school iv'e never heard anyone speak algebra, And iv'e never heard of anyone going there on holiday, Infact i dont even know where the country is. Must be some secret country where only teachers go on holiday,

Don't you mean "Mythtery"

I sold an original lincoln mic, bracket, powerlead on ebay a few yrs ago for £7 now everyone wants £15+ for a bracket, Its ridiculous someone should start making them just like the after market 148/360/3900 brackets.

Knights were selling new ones up until a few years ago. They were a staggering £25 a pop plus P&P on top.

I have a 2830 and a Lincoln with brackets, but my HR2600 for some strange reason came with a 148/360 bracket. There was a member on here a few years back using a Lincoln bracket on his Stalker 9 because the width was a perfect fit. He didn't even know it was a Lincoln bracket!
Never, ever, ever....bloody anything ever!

Far too many radio's to list here. But I do own a legal one...

I was thinking that too . I know nothing about the process , but they might be harder to make as they have those funny rounded edges on the base .

If it's for display/show purposes then you could 3D print one, but the amount of metal-based coil you'd use, plus potentially destroying a nozzle then it would probably work out cheaper to buy one with a Lincoln attached and throw the Lincoln in the bin.
