front element would be 36.5 feet based on 27.465 mhz frequency and the rear element 38.5 feet based on the same frequency boom length i use is as measured made from pine wood painted in clear grease 56 inches long and the element spacings 52 inches is what i use and the swr is a solid 1.2.1 over 1 mhz band width .

Thanks prettypolly,I have bamboos I'm using for the spreaders, any idea what I could use to join the bamboos as spreaders on the boom?.
Also any ideas what I can use to make the front element move along the boom and how to stop it just spinning on the boom?.

Any ideas or how you have done yours would be greatly appreciated.

Guys any ideas what I could use to make 2 hubs ?.i have the wire measured and ready and I got some bamboos that I have covered in black insulating tape.
And I have a sirio 3 ele 27 beam here that I took the boom from it's 55 inches long, there's 2 55 inchs of a boom on the 3 ele sirio but I wouldn't need a boom that long for the 2 element quad,so the 55 inch should be fine ye?.

Just I need ideas as to make 2 hubs for the bamboo spreaders, any suggestions truly appreciated

Two lenghys of angle aluminium arranged in a cross, One U bolt for each to attach to the boom, The spreaders are then jubilee clipped into the angle (V shape) and the jubilee clips holds it there ..

i had a jubilee clip in the centre of my canes....they were over lappped by 8- 10 inches ... and the two or three tie wraps on each end... lasted well over a year and cheap to replace....flexible and tough...
B&Q do plastic canes maybe even tougher.....and i,ve seen plastic coated canes too....lots of choice....
