Why i dont use radio over xmas
Because of kids and their new RC cars/helicopters, This noise has been going since xmas day but hopefully the batteries will go flat soon and they will get bored of recharging them and it will end up in the back of the cupboard soon enough.

I had a rather sinister looking drone thing buzzing around yesterday, sadly I do not own a shotgun.

Can you not find the frequency which they operate on and then transmit a signal just long enough to make them crash?

There is no such thing as a Fidelity 1000 which is too good to scrap.

Apparently I read somewhere they don't crash, instead they return to the start of their journey?Mudslinger wrote:Can you not find the frequency which they operate on and then transmit a signal just long enough to make them crash?

Maybe you could bring a 12 bore round Tim, I'll shout 'PULL!' and you take the little f***er out, and then when some erk comes looking for his new toy, take him out too.

On boxing day some little snotrag was flying his drone around the field buzzing my dog, was going to get cross with him but he stuck it in a tree after a few minutes. Karma.

I like that idea. Simple and expandable to many different tasks.Admiral wrote:Maybe you could bring a 12 bore round Tim, I'll shout 'PULL!' and you take the little f***er out, and then when some erk comes looking for his new toy, take him out too.

Just give the (ex) owner the still warm empty cartridge case to sniff as a souvenir! If I ever had a drone in my airspace I'd definitely take it out, a 6 shot cartridge should do the job or a clay cartridge, they're normally 7 shot.kilimax wrote:I like that idea. 27.145 but you also need the correct tone, You cant just TX on a radio or grab any 27.145 control and take over someones car/helicopter/droneMudslinger wrote:Can you not find the frequency which they operate on and then transmit a signal just long enough to make them crash?

I see, I was under the impression that a strong signal on the correct frequency would wipe over the remote signal like it used to on my RC car.
Technology has obviously moved on.

The thing I saw yesterday was like an upside down spider with a helicopter blade on each leg, and the spooky thing was it didn't make any noise that I could detect.PLL02A wrote:What in the name of fook is a drone?
