Groundplane Radials Kit's for mobile aerials do they do any think at all i got one for the lad's car and whanted to know if it improve's any think at all

why would it when it's 3 inch off the roof ??
the roof will do the same thing...

i can't even see them doing anything as they are part of the radiating element and not the ground like on a base aerial..
just for show if you ask me, or for people that want to look good..

whos wants to buy one or three ?? i have some for same

Suitable for all CB and HAM aerials with a PL/SO239 connection (Sirio Hi-Power, Performer, Mega Watt, Turbo, AS145, ML145 etc)

Makes the aerials' angle of radiation lower for more RF energy being transmitted along the surface of the earth (rather than up into the air).

These really do work, and are worth an extra 1 or 2 signal points on transmit and receive for local contacts, and the lower angle of radiation gives you much longer skip paths if you're a DX'er... a great add-on!

i just think it's something to make peopel buy them..

after all on a base aerial sirio 827, 2012, 2016 and tornado, even midlands and silver rod types, the radials are always on the ground, or bracket.
so to put them on the actual aerial would alter the SWR, and being so far from the roof, surely the signal would follow the roofs path..
probably on a mirror mount or gutter they'd do something, but what i'm not sure..

It's quite possible that these radials are on the ground side of the antenna, even if they are, they still aren't going to do anything apart from look pretty

They still make these things? Good grief. I would say bin it, but it might come useful for an antenna project one day

all the radial kits i've seen and own screw into the 3/8th thread, the aerial part it's self and not the ground..
the sirio types i've never seen..
the one pictured i think is also a 3/8ths type..

No BP, the aerial is a Sirio with PL259/SO239. It is on the "ground" side. However I do agree on its effectivness, U/S. Might be useful for a homebrew HF aerial as a cap hat

1-2 s points and increases dx path? GET REAL!! these are normaly connected on the radiating element and will increase BANDWIDTH. not much though.

Yet to see any scientific evidence that these lower the angle of radiation , I have used them but never noticed any difference in antenna performance .
