Desperately required

Post by Gaz W »

I am desperately looking for anywhere that would sell parts for my anytone AT5555 or any of the clones of this radio
I dropped the rig the other day which resulted in bending the on/off volume/squelch knob and after bending it back it broke the squelch part and now it the knob just spins around without stopping , resulting in the rig being permanenty squelched up
I have tried truck king , knights, thunderpole and cobraworx and none of these stock parts or know of anywhere where I would be able to get the part I need
All help is gratefully received

Thanks

Check if the values are stamped or printed on the reverse of the component - I'm guessing there's a good chance it's the same as a Superstar 3900 (both 50K) but I'm sure someone on here will know for certain.

if the squelch (the outer) just spins, this is usually just the tabs that hold the control together coming loose..
you can usually re press these to make the control work right again..
i have had superstars and cobras like this and it's just a simple control come loose senario..

failing that if they are standard controls then superstar ones will work, if they are soldered direct to a board type, you might be shafted..!!

:) perhaps I am stating the obvious but have you tried the manufacturer

perhaps they could repair it or even send out replacement parts

hope this helps you

I wouldn't expect to get the parts from the manufacturer unless you really don't know what they are and want to pay the premium.
Are they not just everyday parts? Whip it out and stick your meter on it, the track should still be intact. Although as bp says, by the time it's out you will probably fix it.

It's a pretty poor state of affairs that none of them that are flogging the life out of them do no carry spares. Does it bolt to the inner front plate or is it a pcb mount control? (these bolt to front plate too though)

Sorry about that , yes you can stop looking for the midland

I now have the parts I need to fix the radio , a massive thanks goes to sylad fir sourcing me the part and sending them to me free of charge
The radio is now with someone being fixed

If any of you lot do own a anytone AT-5555 my advice is be very careful with it as parts are near impossible to get , even hans in Germany cannot get any parts for the radio
