Hmmm.... very different things really. Bit like saying a you wouldn't buy a 60's Lamborghini Miura because a brand new BMW can do the same performance. One is a piece of CB legend, and the other is just another new Ham radio.

Ive had most hf radio's and still got load's of them that im bored of but ive never had a Jentec to play with.

At the end of the day if it's faulty i can repaire it or if it has a fault with the Jentec bit's ill send it to C work's.

P.s Ive had a kenwood ts450s here any way...........

the Cobra is an investment

Not 'Silly' if you really want it, and you can afford it. We're only on this earth but once.
I applaud those who grasp life and go out for what they want.
I couldn't afford to pay that much... but I'd love to be able to.

Exactly mate, all it is is a 148 thats been epromed, also the frequency counter only reads within 1khz,so not much cop for SSB work, aint even connected directly to the VCO,so not even accurate, words fail me how people bid up such garbage to ludicrous amounts.

I think he did ! Good on yer matey ! Don't take any notice of the "Could have bought a new 'Common-As-Muck 3000' for that ! " brigade. You got (working or not) a fairly rare classic piece of radio history there. :)

Famous quote from Vinnie Jones from the film Snatch...

"You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity."

How apt
