Harry and his missus will be there tomorrow. Hopefully maybe find a frequency for it

Sorry to crash your hopes, but there's not a chance of hearing a peep. As for comms, they'll be encrypted, even if you did own a scanner that can pick up the digital modes. Your best hope is on the Airband if they are using the Royal Chopper, other than that forget it! Mega security on comms etc, it's the Royals after all!

Royal protection and cops with be Airwave and the Barracks should be DMR with Encryption. Not sure what the Castle side staff use.

Just going by the Tattoo alone the mode is DMR, forgot the frequency, but you're correct in the modes the protection and cops use. I really meant to say that if the castle were using a digi, even if you owned a scanner that can let you listen into the modes, it would most likely be encrypted anyway.

Edinburgh Castle staff are on 466.2000 but it is DMR encypted.
