a lot of councils used vhf low band, around 70 - 80MHz, have a scan around and see if you hear anything.

I think Edinburgh must have went digital a good few years ago have never heard them.

i think the highlands in scotland some (or all) gritters have airwave terminals for comms with the emergency services but thats it as far as i know, the others are either still on low band or maybe even just using mobile phones now and got rid of the radios.

Midlothian still use 87.100Mhz if this helps.

Tetre- TMO now up in the Highlands. Yes from other sources it is Airwave in the highlands.
Was tuned into 87.100 nfm yesterday, not sure what I was listening to other than some guys chatting back and forth, roger bleeps going nine to the dozen!
