Seriously though... no insurance? How expensive could that have been really? Perhaps bundled with the public liability insurance that (hopefully) they must have...
And yes, I know all too well how tight budgets are in charitable organisations who's sole source of funding comes from donations given by the general public - but many would say that ANY charity has a duty to protect such donations and to ensure that they are only used for the purpose they were donated for!
