Illegal use of military airband?

Post by 5thElement »

I could be totally wrong about this, so please put me in the picture if i am lol

I was just scanning through the military airband range when it stopped on 256.0375 with a woman giving out an address, i then realised i hadn't set it to AM and it was actually on FM. Signal is about an S7/S9 with me.

It just seems to be a regular PMR channel, someone was giving out an address and there was also mention of a skip. There's been a few more transmissions but nothing said that gives me any clues to who it is.

Basically just wanted to know, are people allowed to use a frequency down there? or are they using this illegally on the military airband? which seems like a pretty stupid thing to do!
